Increase Online Sales :: Embrace Negative Reviews of Your Products on Your Site

iStock_000003599761XSmall.jpgSo here's a way to increase online sales that you probably hadn't thought of before; embrace negative reviews of your products, right on your site. WHAT?!?

Yep. I said it.  In an article from marketingpilgrim, Andy Beal talks about what negative reviews can do for your site.  And he brings very good points to light.  First of all, sometimes you just need to know that someone thinks badly of your products or your service.  If you don't know there's a problem, how can you fix it?

And because bad news travels faster than good, you want to fix that problem pretty quickly.

Think about this for a second.  Have you ever been to a website, read reviews about a product that were stellar, and then read a hundred more that were just as fantastic?  Did it make you feel like they were fake?  Sometimes a little bit of negative feedback lends credibility to you and your products.  And, in addition, customers care about how you handled the issue - customer service is huge in todays world.

Finally, don't just read your own critique's, read your competitors.  Learn from their mistakes, or better yet, take it one step further and approach one of their unsatisfied customers; see if you can be of any help!
