Increase Online Sales :: Dresses

cocktail dress.pngWhen it comes to selling dresses, some retailers have it, and some don’t. Those that do are usually the ones that continue to show an increase in online sales. But, before you can create an increase, you need to drive the traffic to your site and according to the numbers your customers are looking for some pretty specific apparel. Does your store carry what the consumers are looking for?

 We did a little investigation into what words are being searched for when it comes to dresses; here’s what we came up with.

Overwhelmingly, consumers are looking for occasion specific dresses. I was surprised to find that “prom” dresses ranked so much higher than “homecoming” dresses, specifically because of the time of year. I would have expected a prom spike in the spring, shortly before school let out in 2008.

**Also, notice the “Dress Up Bratz,” it looks like some consumers are already doing some holiday shopping! Isn't it funny though how something so irrelevant to the topic at hand can skew the search statistics?

If you are selling a more formal line of dresses, or cocktail dresses, you should be in good shape for the holiday season because there will be lots of ladies looking for party dresses! Start marketing your dresses properly now, and you should begin to see an increase in online sales in very short order!
