Increase Online Sales :: Do You Sell Gloves?

Are you a retailer wanting to increase your online sales? Do you sell gloves?Coach Gloves.png

This time of year, many people are thinking about gloves; slipping our hands into a soft and luxurious pair that will keep us warm, while letting us look good.  At least those of us that reside in the Northern Hemisphere are thinking about it!  It’s about to get chilly in many parts of the world, and so it makes sense that many people are on the hunt for a new pair of gloves to keep their fingers warm and toasty this season.

What struck me as so interesting about the keyword search results was that cold weather gloves fell at the bottom of the list, in positions 8 and 10.  “Gloves” in and of itself is a pretty general term so it’s not surprising that it ranks in the top and if you actually go to the website www.gloves.com  it directs you to a latex glove company. All other glove search terms are very specific.

So, does that mean if you sell cold weather gloves you’re at a disadvantage?  No, not at all.  As the weather gets cooler, more and more people will be searching for them.  However, you can bet that, with as specific as searches are getting on the Internet, people will be looking for specific brands and materials.

Make sure when you are updating your websites and product descriptions, you are as specific as you can be.  Name the brand, name what they’re made of.  Luxury is big with people so if you’re selling cashmere gloves, say so!

Good luck in your efforts to increase online sales.  As we always say here at Fashion-Fox, persistence and the right marketing techniques will make all the difference to your campaign.
