Fashion Internships :: A Day In The Life at Seventeen

When it comes to fashion internships, a "day in the life" will largely depend on who you’re working for. Today, we’re going to take a look at a "day in the life" of an intern at Seventeen fashion magazine. Now, I will warn you, if you have a low tolerance for the "valley-girl" style of chit-chat with lots of "Oh My Gaawwwddd!" and very airy-type personalities, this video may be difficult for you to watch.
The fashion industry is a tough one and you need to be nothing short of bright and professional when you’re working in it – paid or not. So, I post this video, but say this: although the information is good and accurate, I feel like the representation of an intern does a huge dis-service to those in the industry. OK, enough already, right? Here’s the video, let me know what YOU think!
The show is part of a series called Confashional, which has its very own YouTube channel. Started in August of 2007, Girls Gone Styled is their first series and is meant to bring the viewer the latest in fashion from girls in the industry. And, they want to hear from you! They want videos of your closets, testimonials about what you find hot (and not!) and if you’ve got a clothing line you’re trying to launch, let them know!!
These girls promise to introduce us to designers, stylists, editors, photographers, models, and even more interns. Here is one of their other videos which involves stopping people in the street and asking to take a peek in their shopping bags. Definitely much more palatable than the intern video, if I do say so myself!
