Fashion 2.0 :: ShoeTube.tv - Need I Say More?

American women love their shoes; and that's precisely what Shoetube.tv, and their advertisers, are banking on.  Launching on Valentine's Day (how appropriate), Powderhouse Productions is hoping that women love their shoes enough to frequent their online tv station.

With shows like "Pimp my Pump," and "Real or Deal," I have a feeling that women will be flocking to the site. Shows are designed to be fun and fresh, and are exactly what women are looking for.  "Pimp my Pump" lets women shos off their personal shoe embellishments with "Real or Deal," asks folks to decide if the shoe is the real deal or a knock-off.

Advertisers seem to think the site will be a hit too, as Nine West has already signed on to promote its 30th anniversary and the launch of its fall 2008 boot line with ShoeTube.tv.

Fashion 2.0 :: ShoeTube.tv

shoetube 2.pngThe site hasn't missed out on the social networking piece either. They've hired a band of fashion writers to blog about shoes and create forums in hopes that their target market, women ages 18 to 44, will contribute their own thoughts as well as their own shoe videos.  Sounding a little like "YouTube for the Shoe Fanatic?"

I still haven't decided if I think this it too niche or not.  A recent survey by Consumer Reports National Research Center cited that the average American woman has 19 pairs of shoes in her closet and yet another report by NPD Group shows that shoe spending was a whopping $44.2 BILLION in the 12 month span from October 2006 to October 2007.  With numbers like that, what is beginning as "niche" will probably not stay that way for long!
