  • Apparel Sales Got Off To a Great Start This Holiday Season

    According to a report by Coremetrics, both department stores and intimate apparel sites saw strong initial sales figures in the beginning of the holiday season; on the flip side, they report that home-oriented sites and apparel sites were not living up to expectations.  In their report, they have listed sales figures, percentage of change up or down and average checkout dollar value.  However, I tend to disagree slightly with their forcast of a bleak holiday season for apparel sales.     When you're as big as Dior, you don't typically need to do much to increase online sales.  However, imagine for a minute that you are Dior, and that you're getting ready to roll out another variation of one of your most famous perfumes, Poison.  When you get buzz all the time, so how do you get a little extra, to focus on this new launch? 
    Christian Dior decided to do a few things
    First, they hired the latest "Bond Girl," who just happens to be Franco-British by birth.  Eva Green is a sexy, bilingual spokesperson for Dior's latest Poison spin-off, "Midnight Poison."  Looking dangerously attractive in the commercial, she is an excellent choice for this marketing campaign.  Coincidentally, she also happens to have a leading role in the new movie, "The Golden Compass," which just came out.
